because it means you have made the decision to live a courageous and awesome life. I just had to share the link to a P & G commercial today below, because I need to be repeatedly reminded of its message – that in order to live life as a positive and creative contribution, we have to allow ourselves the freedom of falling. I DO believe that falling only makes us stronger. Each “falling” presents us with a golden opportunity – the choice to try again. Getting up again and again strengthens our muscles of resiliency and courage – to name a just a few positive side effects. When I watch babies, who fall down a thousand times a day, I’ve never seen one adult say to a toddler: “give it up, it will never happen, quit trying to walk…” We just expect they will fall, and get back up and try again – and they do – constantly! I am very cognizant lately, of where we humans repeatedly and throughout our lifetime learn the message that we just can’t do something that we were destined to do. Please, don’t get me wrong, sometimes you have to “quit” on certain things – a relationship, a job, a habit or behavior, etc – things that are not good for us. I’m talking about all the times we don’t take the risk to try and do something that we know lights us up from the inside out. I believe that it is our learned pattern of “not even trying” for fear of falling, or failing, that over time, steals away our freedom to be – to be happy, unencumbered, creative, loving, kind and fun. Ever wondering why you don’t seem to have the energy, the free spirit, the happiness each day that you desire or used to have? Try taking on living a life where you give yourself the permission to actively fail each day, knowing that you will pick yourself up and try again. You might be surprised with the results…
